Shigeo Nagashima, once a famous batter and manager of Giants, pro-baseball team, used to do voluntary workout in the land of Ōhito, IzunoKuni City. With the view of Mt. Fuji, the nearby Mt. Joyama, and the flow of the Kano River, this scenic area is a place where you can enjoy the tour while following the Shigeo Nagashima Running Road where he worked hard in training.

Kanogawa Memorial Park

Free parking. There are toilets here.
You can see Mt. Joyama from the top of the embankment. Running back and forth from Ohito Hotel to the summit of Mt. Joyama was Mr. Nagashima's daily routine.

Mt. Suisho (Crystal)

Ōhito Shrine

This shrine is said to have been founded 1300 years ago. The Ōhito Hotel above was the hotel that Mr. Nagashima stayed for his training in winter. Let's enjoy the view from the hill.

Shigeo Nagashima Running Road

Mr. Nagashima worked voluntary training in this area for seven years, since 1967, from New Year until the team’s camp began in spring. Today, there are a lot of people enjoying running and cycling here.
