Departing from the Tago Fishing Port, which once flourished for bonito fishing, we walk along the Tomyogasaki Promenade, where the remains of a lighthouse from the Edo period remain. If it is sunny, you can see the Southern Alps and Mt. Fuji. You will also see sea caves, faults, and the traces of underwater mudslides one after another. To see the intricate coastline, you will understand why the lighthouse was needed for boats. At your final goal, Futo Coast, you will be greeted with a breathtaking view of several gigantic dikes towering silently.

Nishiizu Town Tourism Association

It is a tourist information center near the Dogashima bus stop. Please stop by before starting sightseeing in Dogashima.

Tago Sehama Coast

In Tago Bay, there are many reefs created by the ejecta of submarine volcanoes, forming a unique landscape.

Tomyogasaki

On the "Tomeigasaki Promenade" that connects Tago Port and Futo Coast, you can see the spectacular coastline created by the ejecta of submarine volcanoes.
When it is sunny, you can see the cityscape of central Shizuoka and the majestic Southern Alps towering behind it over Suruga Bay.

Observatory (Tomyo Hall)

In the Edo period, this area was a "dangerous place" for sailors. To ensure safety, local people have set up a lighthouse here and its foundation remains.
It is said that the local people lit up the light every night and fish oil (whale oil) was used for the lamp.

Futo Coast

You can observe the intruding rocks (volcanic roots), which are the pathways of magma that once supplied magma to submarine volcanoes. Each of the slab-shaped rocks that tower over the coast is a former path of magma.
